My artwork doesn't require much materials. Wires, metal rods, glue, paper, paints, and sealing/coating materials. Out of these list PAPER is the most used material.
I don't buy paper, I reclaim it from what is termed to be "post consumer waste". Most of which are corrugated fiberboard that make up most bulk packaging boxes.
These fiberboard are usually 75% to 100% recycled paper. This means that I am working with a totally recycled material.
I wondered, if these materials are recycled over and over consisting of fibers from different trees. How many trees could there be? Could it be 100, 000 plus trees?
Creepy as this may sound, but I am working with the remains of DEAD TREES! And hundreds of thousands of them!
Just a thought to give you a little AWARENESS just how My Art and the Environment goes hand-in-hand.
The Value of Trees cannot be emphasized enough but most of us are taking it for granted.
Just remember that Trees DON'T NEED US, but WE ABSOLUTELY NEED THEM.
